Our Baby Room caters for up to six children per day, with our Toddler Room catering for up to 9 children per day. Each child will be encouraged to learn through play in a relaxed non-intrusive way. This will be achieved through a set routine, devised by the Hayley and Claire on a monthly basis, of activities that will be carefully chosen to meet the capabilities and interests of the children. In line with current guidelines, the children will take part in carefully planned activities which meet the six areas of learning outlined in the EYFS.
Within their daily routine the children are offered a variety of activities, to include art, music, cooking, as well as story time sessions and group play with a choice of multi-cultural toys. With our twice-daily Fit 'n' Fun sessions it's the perfect opportunity for your toddler to use up their abundance of energy.
Daily diaries are completed throughout the day to keep you informed of all aspects of your child's day, recording all activities undertaken, including times and length of sleep and intake of milk and meals. To assist speech development, we find it helpful if you provide some photographs of your child’s pets, relatives or friends, which can be stuck in the back of the diary and used during discussions between your child and Nursery Nurse. We encourage parents to initially assist in the settling in of their baby to ensure familiarity with the surroundings and with the nursery staff. Parents are asked to provide the nursery with an outline of their baby’s daily routine (i.e. sleeping and feeding times) to ensure continuity of care.
There is a separate sleeping room covered by baby listening monitors, which is quiet, comfortable and well ventilated, surrounded by soothing lighting and music. With parental consent, we do take our babies out for a walk around in their buggies so as to give them fresh air and take in their surroundings.
